Geoeconomic Forum and Publishing House e.V.
We promote well-founded, fact-based journalism about economic and social developments in emerging regions – understandable, free of clichés, and practical. Our publications, research, and educational programs open up new perspectives, strengthen global understanding, and support informed decisions in business, politics, and research.

Our philosophy / mission
We explain economics and society in the world's emerging regions. The association promotes well-founded journalistic analyses and publications on socioeconomic developments, innovation, and technology in emerging and developing countries – moving beyond clichés, a well-intentioned Western ivory tower, sensationalist disaster journalism, and abstract statistics. We communicate economic contexts for professional and educational purposes and foster intercultural understanding through our publications, events, and collaborations. We pursue a holistic approach. We offer an international platform for economic policy journalism, academic blogging, and entrepreneurship. The association is a non-profit organization.
Why Geoeconomic Forum?
Geoeconomic Forum offers well-founded, fact-based, and accessible analyses of often-neglected but increasingly important topics: emerging and developing countries and their social and economic transformations.
The organization provides high-quality journalistic content, supports in-depth research, and offers exclusive perspectives often lacking in the international media landscape. With a focus on education, geoeconomics, and economics, combined with a pragmatic approach and international connections, our publications and active community platform fill crucial gaps in media coverage.
We compile this content clearly and concisely on our website. In our publications, we make complex interrelationships, historical paths, and global trends understandable, enabling readers to gain a nuanced understanding of global developments from a fresh, realistic perspective. This provides readers with access to exclusive knowledge that supports their decisions in business, politics, research, and investment, and strengthens their awareness of global interconnections.
“Asia is driving global economic growth; even African countries are now achieving growth rates of up to ten percent – while America and especially Europe are stagnating at a high level. Geoeconomic disruptions are forcing companies and entire countries to re-evaluate their suppliers and production locations. Reason enough to take a closer look at these regions.”
Simon Kiwek
Simon Kiwek is an economist with two master's degrees and a trained specialist journalist. His experiences from travels in the Global South and his work at the Ministry of Economic Affairs shape his analytical, realistic perspective.

"Understanding global markets means seizing global opportunities. Especially in light of democratized financial markets through online brokers and ETFs, sound knowledge opens up new possibilities for participation."

Simon Kiwek combines a broad profile encompassing academia, journalism, and practical experience. He holds two Master's degrees in Economics, specializing in sustainability and development economics (Universities of Graz and Göttingen), as well as advanced training as a specialist journalist from the Free Journalism School in Berlin.
He worked as a journalist during his studies, focusing particularly on Austria as a business location and Styria in particular. Extensive travels took him to the countries of the Global South, which are the subject of this project. There, he recognized the gap between romanticized reporting, Western narratives, and the real dynamics on the ground.
These experiences shape the project's editorial concept, which considers the interrelationships from both a micro and macro level. He currently works as an economist for macroeconomic analysis at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
